Chow Kwoon Yarn Yee Tong Kung Fu Academy
Safety Bay, Perth, Western Australia
About
The Chow Kwoon Yarn Yee Tong Kung Fu Academy was opened in 1995 in Perth's northern suburbs by Sifu Quyen Luong, training students in the Chow Ka style of kung fu, weaponry, chi kung, and lion dance. The academy takes its name directly from the original school established by the five Chow brothers — 'Chow Kwoon' (Chow School), 'Yarn' (kindness), 'Yee' (honour), 'Tong' (branch) — and upholds these ideals in both training and daily conduct. The lion dance team has performed at Perth's Chinese New Year Fair and other cultural events, and is known for strong traditional drumming. The academy trains over 50 students of all ages.
