Chinese Youth League Lion and Dragon Dance Australia (CYLLADDA)

Founded in 1976 under the Chinese Youth League of Australia, CYLLADDA is Sydney's most internationally decorated lion dance troupe. Based in Haymarket, they practise Southern Traditional and Freestyle lion dance as well as dragon dance, and in 2018 became the first Western team ever to win an international lion dance championship, claiming first place in the Females Traditional division at the MGM International Lion Dance Competition in Macau. The troupe trains weekly at the CYL Clubhouse on Dixon Street, performs extensively across NSW during the Lunar New Year season, and offers public workshops through the City of Sydney.
