The Bendigo Chinese Association Lion Team (大金山瑞獅) carries one of Australia's oldest and most historically significant lion dance traditions, having performed alongside the imperial dragon 'Loong' since the late 1800s. Based in Bendigo — a city with deep Gold Rush Chinese heritage — the team trains year-round with performers of all ages and participates as a headliner in the annual Bendigo Easter Fair, which claims to be the world's largest dragon and lion arts showcase. The team performs both Southern (Hok San and Fut San) and Northern lion styles, and accepts bookings for cultural events and private functions throughout regional Victoria.
